Saturday night Black Cat was sold out to Black Lips proportions. Thankfully, a miscommunication led to not being out my cot damn mind at this show, something that normally helps out going to the Black Cat in general. We missed Black Acid but they seemed cool (whatever) and had a full line up. The Raveonettes came on with Sharin Foo looking hot (sort of like Nico going to a prom) and Sune Rose Wagner looking like the Reid brothers might of as an awkward teenager. To be honest I didn’t/couldn’t look at him much. Also in tow was another hot EU card holder pressing play on the songs and freaking out on her tom and snare JMC meets VU style.

Per usual, no one really moved except for misplaced raver guy and other less confident swayers. Most of the crowd seemed like they were down with local blogs (fuck yea!) and 9 to 5’s (boo!). All in all, I had a good time and The Raveonettes rule, but I was discouraged by the fact that my favorite contemporary bands that are down with sweet pop/rock history moments are all from Europe and favor style over sweat. Is it too much to ask for a great band to consist of people on stage and not a MacBook in a box? Don’t get me started.
