Hong Kong’s Pang Brothers (known in these parts for their creepfest The Eye) just finished directing an American remake of their own film, 2000’s Bangkok Dangerous, starring Nicolas Cage. I had a whole long tirade written about this film, but then I thought, you know what? The poster pretty much tells you everything that’s wrong with this movie. Oh, except for this great tidbit: in the original, the hitman-with-a-heart character was a deaf mute, an angle that has been completely excised from the new version’s screenplay. I mean, we wouldn’t want Nic Cage to try and play it subtle now, would we? Click here to see the trailer, where Cage sports hair extensions that make his Ghost Rider rug look positively convincing by comparison.

Cage’s hair just keeps getting longer: Next, Ghost Rider, this. Whatever. Because of Adaptation I will forgive every terrible film he does.
