- Robots’ reboot features the Apple computer start-up sound (and WALL-E uses a relic of an ipod)
- Auto Pilot robot is a homage to 2001: A Space Odyssey
- Close Encounters theme music plays when WALL-E meets Eve
- WALL-E passes the Sputnik satellite in Earth’s orbit
- Fred Willard, frequent Tim and Eric Awesome Show (Adult Swim) guest star, plays BnL CEO
Furthermore, Eve is definitely what robots will look like when Apple finally takes over the world.

NEWS MINUTE: VA OFFERS 3, MAKE THAT 2, CANDIDATES FOR DEM. VP

Senator Warner?
Former Governor Mark Warner will not be Obama’s VP, but he will be running for the US Senate in Virginia. Although Warner has graciously removed himself from the pool potential Obama running-mates, current Governor Tim Kaine and Senator Jim Webb are still in the mix. VA dems can be proud that their unique brand of politics is getting noticed by the whole country, and that the state may finally be considered a swing state in the upcoming general election.
Kaine and Webb are politically diverse from Obama and his core supporters (Kaine is pro-life, Webb served as Reagan’s Navy secretary), but this may be just the kind of “gap-filling” he needs to seal the deal.
