NO: Viral Marketing Pt. 3 by Jason Powell

Continuing the series started here and continued here, the NY Daily news spoke to several real-life Sarah Marshalls, getting their thoughts on the billboards and posters that have been talking trash about them for the past few weeks as part of a campaign to promote the new Judd Apatow (and Jason Segel!) film Forgetting Sarah Marshall. It’s basically just a collection of whiny soundbites, but it got me wondering: according the generally accepted definition of viral marketing, aren’t I becoming a part of the marketing machine just by reporting/criticizing/commenting on it? Holy moral dilemma, Batman!
