Issac Hayes died. He was 65. I’m sick of writing about this sort of thing and I think we all know what he contributed to the world etc. So you should probably just check out this New York Times article on it.

Bernie Mac died today at the age of 50 due to complications from pneumonia. This comes as a shock to me, as I always had compared Bernie Mac to that of a strong Ox of a “King of Comedy”. Bernie came a long way from “Moesha” and his own “Bernie Mac Show” all the way to “Bad Santa” and the “Ocean’s Eleven” series. He was always funny and never a sell out. If I could somehow get the voice in my head to sound like his, I would.

Well, we just got through the spectacle that was the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics and we already have, (as I suspected) our first bummer story. Apparently a Chinese man attacked two American tourists at the Drum Tower in Beijing and managed to kill one of them. He then threw himself from the building and died. No medals. Just shitty news.

Anyone else wanna place a bet one what the next controversial story/tragedy will be?

Okay, for some reason animated GIFs don’t work on the fron page of this site (what up, WordPress?!?), but click the image above to witness the glory that is Frank Dux and Chong Li rocking the house in a scene that somehow didn’t make it into the final version of The Greatest Story Ever Told.

Everyone stop what you’re doing now and immediately read Wizards star Gilbert Arenas’ blog. It is amazing. Even the Washington Post can’t get enough of Arenas’ frank, to the point writing about his new shark tank:

“…Then I’ll have my personal shark tank that’s going to be in my basement. My basement used to be my weight room but I’m converting it to a shark tank. I cut a whole wall out down there and replaced it with a 10,000 gallon shark tank. That’s going to be my aggressive tank, only filled with bullhead sharks. If anybody knows what a bullhead shark is, it’s the No. 1 killing shark in America. It can go in salt water and it can go in fresh water. I’m going to have a salt water tank so I can have my eels and my stingrays too.”

Many of you may have noticed in this morning’s express that US Olympic Star Michael Phelps (left) is sporting a ridiculous mustache. Apparently not only does he plan on beating Mark Spitz (right) in the “how many medals can you win in one olympics” department, but he’s also going after the “sweetest mustache worn while winning lots of olympic gold medals” award. While we’ll have to leave it up to the olympic judges to determine the former, the latter I will leave up to you all in the YoN community. Who wins the Best Mustached American Olympic Swim-God Award?

Phelpstache VS. Spitztache,
Ironic 2008 VS. Serious 1972,
who wins?

(PS. Phelps hails from our lovely neighbor city of Baltimore)
