YES: SXSW

Until coming to SXSW I didn’t understand it’s brilliance. Austin is normally a pretty hip/cheap/fun place to spend time, but right now it’s spring break for UT Austin’s nearly 50,000 students. They leave and make room for all the hippsters, scenesters, and musicians. It’s unclear what the hell I’m doing here, but I’m having a fantastic time, though I did feel sort of inferior as one of five people on my flight without a guitar.

I’m surprised by how much of it is free and doesn’t require a badge, which is good news, as I don’t have one. Next Year.
